Short on money? Having trouble paying some of the basic bills that you used to never have to worry about? Join the club! This definition doesn't quite paint the picture properly though. A better one is a freelance writer is a writer who is paid per article or piece of work on either a per article or per-word basis. Some folks turn to freelance writing as a means to telecommute without the rigidity of office hours associated with a more standard day job. There is always a powerful requirement for freelance writers from internet sites, corporations, corporations, and other writers even! Many times companies will find that its less expensive to reduce a technical writing staff to copy editors and hire freelancers to supply the content on a demand-basis. The company saves the money on having to pay for unemployment insurance, social security, medicare, and so on but doesn't have final control over the freelancer manufacturing the work.The beauty with modern day freelance-writing is that you can live in say Tennessee ( where I live ), and write for companies located in California, Pennsylvania, and the U.K. ( I do ) without ever traveling to the company's site!

Before you make a decision that freelance writing is the answer to all your issues, you've got to realize that there is no such thing as a Net Money Tree! You will have to work and devote a lot of your spare time in order to make a financial difference in your life by freelance writing. It took me about 2 months to start making a fiscal dent in my bills when I started, so I determined to help others out, I might pass along bits that I have learned while freelance writing and web publishing.
